DESCRIPTION:Nancy Martin-Silber\, from Education and Watersheds\, will be hosting this fun and interesting program. \nRecycling Olympics – An exciting and educational event in which kids compete in a variety of relays and races using recyclable or recycled materials. This event is designed to teach children about the importance of recycling and protecting the environment in a fun. The Recycling Olympics feature activities such as: the Recycling Relay. \nLitter Prevention Program – This one session 45 minute in-classroom program is designed to teach elementary and middle school students about litter and why it is a problem in their community. Students learn about the amount of litter occurring in Pennsylvania and ways they can reduce it. \n*3rd Grade – recycling Olympics and an activity packet with Mrs. Hlavsa during applied learning!

DESCRIPTION:Tae Kwon Do tournament @ PCS – Sat\, Feb 25: I am thrilled to share that we will be hosting our first Tae Kwon Do tournament in less than 2 weeks!  On Saturday\, February 25th Master Zang has organized an invitation-only tournament for a few other local TKD schools in order to offer our students an opportunity to perform in front of a crowd!  The event starts at 11am for our students.  There is typically a cost for students to take part\, but the cost for PCS students is waived!  Students will perform their individual pattern\, which they have been working on since our first week of school.  They have been working on how to introduce themselves to judges\, so please ask them to demonstrate to you at home:\n\n“Judges\, my name is (First & last name) and I am representing Provident Charter School. With your permission I would like to perform saju-jirugi (pronounced “sa-GEE-git-ee-kee).”\n\n\n\nMaster Zang will be on the mat with each PCS student for their performance to help them through their first demonstration.  Please consider allowing you child to take part – this is a great opportunity!  Please RSVP to Ms. Courtney by this Friday (Feb 17): cmikewilson@providentcharterschool.org or 412-709-5160.  I will also be putting out an All-Points-Bulletin for parents to help at the registration desk and event food sales.  All revenues will be shared between Zang TKD and PCS.  The funds that come to PCS will go towards TKD uniforms and belts for our students!
