Start Here, Stay Here.
At PROVIDENT CHARTER SCHOOLS (PCS) we’ve reimagined what middle school can look like for kids with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Our students have been with us since elementary school and keep thriving as they get older, while others find us during middle school and finally experience what it feels like to succeed. Our middle school program at our Central campus isn’t just different – it’s designed around how your child actually learns. Here are 3 ways we’ve flipped the script on middle school!

Building on What’s Already Working
At PCS, we take methods that actually work for students who think differently…and build from there. Things like Orton Gillingham reading techniques, hands-on learning, one-on-one time with teachers, and plans tailored specifically to your child. By middle school, our kids know these approaches work for them, and our teachers understand each student’s unique style. So these three years become about growing stronger in what’s already clicking, with teaching that meets them exactly where they are.
Getting Ready For What’s Next
Here’s the thing about our middle schoolers: they’re not just getting ready for 9th grade, they’re getting ready for life. We focus on the skills that actually matter – like figuring out how to manage their time, study effectively, and learn independently. Plus, our kids build REAL FRIENDSHIPS with other students who get what it’s like to learn differently. When our graduates head to high school, they’re not just prepared – they’re excited about what comes next.

Creating Joy in Learning
PCS students love to come to middle school! We’ve built flexibility right into the day so students can explore what they’re passionate about and discover who they are. Our middle schoolers dive into Student Council, put on musicals, and work on independence through our Academic Extension Block. They practice TAE KWON DO during school hours, get their hands dirty in our STEAM lab and greenhouse, and go on field trips that actually connect to what they’re learning. Because when school is engaging, learning just happens.
