Apply to Provident Charter School Central

Provident Charter School Central (PCS Central) is designed for students who have dyslexia or other language-based learning differences. Provident Charter School Central is an approved Pennsylvania Charter School and is located in the Pittsburgh Northside Neighborhood of Troy Hill.
Application Process
HOW TO APPLY for the 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR
Beginning at 8 AM on February 1, 2026, you will be able to click here to submit an application for the 2026-2027 school year.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Our open enrollment period for the 2026-2027 school year will begin on February 1, 2026, at 8 AM, and end on February 28, 2026, at 5 PM. Applications received after the open enrollment period will be processed/placed on the waiting list in the order they were received. Our lottery will be held on March 3rd, 2026.
PCS Central will be accepting applications for grades 2-8 for the 2026-2027 school year.
Public Enrollment Lottery
To ensure equal access to enrollment, Provident Charter School will conduct a public enrollment lottery annually with applications received during the open enrollment period. The public enrollment lottery for the 2026-2027 school year will take place at Provident Charter School Central on March 3rd, 2026, at 8:45 AM.
On the lottery date, one of the following scenarios will occur:
(1) If student applications do not exceed the number of available seats in a grade, all applicants will be given a space in the grade, or
(2) If student applications exceed the number of available seats in a grade, a lottery will be conducted for that grade, with preference being given to:
- Students who are siblings of students already enrolled in Provident Charter Schools.
- Students who reside in the Pittsburgh Public School District, as defined under Section 17-1723-A of the Pennsylvania Charter School Law.
- Students who are part of a targeted group of at-risk students, specifically those who have dyslexia or a specific learning disability in reading, as identified through a formal evaluation, an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in which specific learning disability is listed as the primary diagnosis, or a reading screener administered by Provident Charter Schools (PCS).
Any students not receiving a space will be placed on the waiting list in the order their names are drawn. All applications received after February 28, 2026, will be placed on the waiting list in the order they are received.
