Team Storm

Our TKD program is linked to our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports Program. Students must show not only their ability to complete the TKD patterns but must also demonstrate their leadership skills and ability to show Perseverance, Compassion, & Self-Control to earn their belts. Students are given the opportunity to perform the pattern at their level in order to earn the next belt level. In addition to our TKD classes, students may also be invited by Grand Master Zang to join Team Storm. Provident’s Team Storm practices every day during recess, so students need to make a commitment to practicing every day during recess. Team Storm demonstrates their understanding of TKD in two demonstrations per year – once in the Fall & once in the Spring.

Houses
To continue building a positive climate and culture for staff and students, staff and students will be assigned to a Provident House. There are 4 Provident Houses and each of them is named after a bridge in Pittsburgh. Bridges are symbolic on many levels – one way that PCS is like a bridge is that our school is designed to help every student become a better reader and we try to ‘bridge’ the connections in our students’ minds so that they can become independent learners.

Stormy

Hi, I’m Stormy! I am the Provident Charter School Mascot and I come to school every day. I am called a Frug. Are you laughing? I think it sounds really funny, but I am a mix of a Pug and a French bulldog. My birthday is October 17th, 2019. All the kids at school have a birthday party for me each year. Treats and squeaky balls are my favorites!
When I am at school, I love to see my friends. We read together, take walks, play ball outside, and sometimes just sit together. One of my friends at school has even taught me two tricks. I can give my paw and spin because of their dedication. I love working for my treats!
