Are you looking for a new school to call home for your struggling reader? At Provident Charter School West (PCS West), we are currently enrolling 1st-5th grades tuition-free for fall 2024! Here’s a simple guide to help you easily navigate our enrollment process.
Step 1: Review the Qualifications for Enrollment
PCS West is a free charter school that serves students with dyslexia/specific learning disability who are struggling to become skilled readers. Does your child qualify? We define qualified students as those who have:
- documentation from school that the student is not meeting grade-specific standards in literacy
- demonstrated the need for such specific services through (but not limited to) documentation in an IEP, 504 plan with dyslexia/SLD as the primary eligibility
- a diagnosis of dyslexia/SLD through a formal public or private evaluation (if they have been evaluated)
- the characteristics of dyslexia through an assessment/screener administered after the application is received
Step 2: Complete an Application Form
Fill out our online application form to begin the enrollment process. If your child has not yet been evaluated for dyslexia/SLD, our Admissions Team will contact you to schedule an informal screening.
Step 3: Complete the Registration Packet
Once the Admissions Team has reviewed your application and determined if your child qualifies for enrollment at PCS West, we’ll notify you by phone and email. We will then email you an enrollment packet, which you’ll have 14 days to complete to secure admission to our school.
